Ravensbourne, a leading London higher education institution innovating in digital media and design is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Drori as its new Chair of Governors with immediate effect.
Having started his career in broadcast engineering, Jon worked in senior roles in television production and online, and now has strategic positions with several scientific and cultural organisations.
His wealth of experience and industry relationships will be of huge benefit to Ravensbourne, a specialist institution with a very strong reputation in the creative industries for producing highly employable graduates.
Jon is Chairman of the UK Parliament’s Advisory Council on Public Engagement, and is a Trustee of The Woodland Trust, Wildscreen, the Internet Watch Foundation, and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew where he also Chairs the commercial trading arm. He is a Visiting Industrial Professor in the Graduate School of Education at Bristol University, specialising in the educational uses of technology and he works with NESTA on digital education and start-up businesses.
At the Department for Culture Media and Sport, Jon was founding Director of Culture Online, a programme to engage new audiences with culture and arts using new techniques, which won many important awards. Previously, he was Head of Commissioning for BBC Online, and before that, Executive Producer and Director of many popular BBC Television documentary series.
