Whilst Ravensbourne’s Fashion Promotion students were busy reviewing the best collections of the annual graduate showcase Graduate Fashion Week, famous blogger Susie Bubble shone praise on two more Ravensbourne students in her popular fashion blog Style Bubble.
Hanni Bowcut and Rebecca Chambers were handpicked by Susie as two of the most exciting graduate talents on show.
Susie (right) wrote of Hanni: “on a personal taste level, Hannah Bowcutt‘s work stuck out for me. It’s hard for me to resist a girl shrine moodboard or a pastel-hued editorial.”
Whilst Susie said of Rebecca: “Rebecca Chambers‘ presentation of a magazine called Annie Online, aimed at creatively-led 14-16 year olds, has definitely got legs for me as a potential real online publication”, concluding with the teaser “It will be actively online in a few weeks so I’ll report back then”.
Susie’s comments followed official recognition when Rebecca Chambers won two awards at Graduate Fashion Week, the Media & Design Award 2013 and the Co-founders Choice winner in All Walks Beyond the Catwalk’s Diversity NOW! Competition.
Since its launch in 2006, Style Bubble has grown to become the definitive voice in fashion blogging, with 30,000 views a day from keen fashionistas. To read Susie’s article click here.
Susie’s was not the only blog to prove popular at Graduate Fashion Week, as Ravensbourne’s Fashion Promotion students also hit the big time.
In between their official duties for GFW, the students, many of whom are in their first year of study, typed up reviews and uploaded photo albums throughout the event. Several of the blogs saw record views, with students reporting hits exceeding 2,000. Students Lillie Cooper (mcfillie.blogspot.co.uk) and Natalie Bell have both seen visits to their sites skyrocket in recent days.
Other popular blogs included student Nathan Henry’s entertaining h3nryh3nry.blogspot.co.uk and Grace Gibson’s affable thegibsondiaries.blogspot.co.uk
Along with their success, Ravensbourne scooped up more accolades during Graduate Fashion Week than any other educational institution in the UK. Click here to view the full list of winners.
