Ravensbourne’s BA (Hons) Fashion and BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion students are proving hot competition at Graduate Fashion Week across a range of competitions.
Inspired by the London Riots, BA (Hons) Fashion student Anne-Lina Dingsor-Uudelepp’s (above left) portfolio of work earned her the David Band Textiles award. A past winner of this award went on to work at prestigious fashion-house, Vivienne Westwood.
The Per Aquum Marketing Award was won by Sophie Christiansen (above right), BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion, for her innovative marketing campaign. Per Aquum has sponsored GFW for five years and is a luxury resort and spa company specialising in luxury that ‘dares to be different’.
The Media and Design award, judged by industry experts from publications including Vogue was awarded to Rebecca Chambers (above centre), BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion.
The Karen Millen Portfolio Award went to Emma De Vries, BA (Hons) Fashion. As well as the award, she earned herself a one-year paid internship with Karen Millen for her inspirational portfolio.
The Gala Awards took place last night, hosted by Henry Holland. We are absolutely delighted that four Ravensbourne students were also shortlisted for the prestigious Gala Awards – Patricia Williams (Womenswear), William Baxter (Menswear), Josphine Pettman (Print), Chen Yu (Knitwear).
Social media has been buzzing like crazy as students, fashion-lovers and leaders take to Twitter and blogging.
Iain Bromley, Subject Leader for BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion noted some of the attending students blogger have seen their blog hits skyrocket. Some students can now even boast links with Hermes, Satchi and Somerset House.
Congratulations to all that took part and good luck to all!
