Ravensbourne hosted a two-day festival last week giving students the opportunity to showcase their wares.
Scriptwriter/ Suction cup tennis ball creator, Craig was based in the Walker space. On day 2 he said, “We’ve sold most of our stock! We made just over 100 and we’ve only got 20 left. We’ve made a bot of money and it’s been a good couple of days”.
During the first day there were free digital intro sessions. Spanning both days, a range of mind-boggling goods and services were on offer; from quirky insect encased soap to sunglasses made from recycled natural resources; from timelapse artists to 3D animation trainee-experts.
Sophie (right), a self-confessed baking fanatic, brought an unusually delightful flavour to the festival with Bakette London – ‘Americana inspired cookies, baked with love’. She said, “It’s been a really great success and I’ve had an amazing position by the door. Yesterday, I sold out early and had to go home and bake some more.”
International student Kamil, was based on L1 representing his visual effects studio, he said, “It gives lots of opportunities for jobs, there’s been a lot of people from industry asking lots of questions and sharing business cards – we’ll see where it gets us”.
Without a doubt, all the students proved Ravensbourne is a bustling hub of future innovators.
