Digital Shoreditch Festival is a two week mass-community celebration, inviting the entire world of tech, creative and all their converging industries, from around the world to East London. There will be a programme of events ranging from keynotes, lightning talks, workshops, discussions, panels, debates, fireside chats, experimental installations and SO much more!

Students from a number of broadcast technology, digital film, tv, and production courses have been invited to work with the organisers, filming and live streaming the whole event.

A clear testament to their talent, skills and professionalism, Ravensbourne students are frequently invited to support live events like this, with partnerships over the years including BVE 2015, the annual UK broadcast and production technology event, the Edinburgh TV festival in 2014, and of course, the London Olympics in 2012.

Connect day of the Digital Shoreditch festival: One of the elements will be a workshop session for young people, to work on a fast and furious programme of approximately 3 hours to respond to a live brief with a tech and/or media solution (theoretically - with ideas - not with actual coding etc).

We're envisaging 4 or 5 young people in each team, and each organisation would put forward one team. It will be facilitated, and teams will work with industry experts through the stages of immersion, ideation, basic prototyping and pitching the idea

Digital Shoreditch is taking place from 11-14 May 2015.
