Richard Colson, subject leader of our MA/MSc Computational Designcourse, will lead a a coding and arduino workshop entitled 'Sensing the Body', at Watermans.
With the growing popularity of wearable technologies, this free workshop aims to help you assess some of the possibilities around body data. It will begin by providing some examples of how you can use data from the body in interactive project work.
The workshop will include demonstrations of proximity sensors, computer vision (OpenCV) and the Kinect.
Topics will include:
- Reading sensor values via a serial port with the Arduino
- Using the Kinect in OpenFrameworks and Processing
- Bring your own laptop with Processing and Arduino installed or use one of ours
- Install XCode (Apple) or CodeBlocks (PC) and Openframeworks
