Join Digital Enterprise Greenwich and SIGFOX, working with the University of Greenwich and Ravensbourne, at a two day Hackfest to explore the Internet of Things.
The Internet of Things opens up a $19 tn* opportunity over the next 10 years to reinvent the way we live and interact with computers. To a public sector required to deliver more for less, it offers potentially $4.6 tn* in savings and will transform the way key sectors such as transport, energy, health and construction operate.
Until recently, the power consumption and costs required to harness transformational technologies has inhibited wide scale rollout. SIGFOX has deployed a new cellular network, completely independent of GSM** networks to provide a cost and energy efficient solution to this issue, costing one tenth and using three hundred times less energy than 2/3/4G to transmit up to 140 x 12 byte messages per device per day. This disruption will open up new markets to connected solutions previously unimagined. Connected medicine dispensers, traffic monitoring sensors, fitness trackers, environmental monitoring sectors: the potential of computer-to-computer technology is infinite.
Explore the potential of SIGFOX technology at a two day Hackfest on 19 & 20 May at Ravensbourne. Collaborate with other technology providers from different market sectors to help address real life public sector issues then pitch your ideas to a panel of judges in need of tomorrow’s solutions, today.
Teams can work on real life problem statements provided by corporate partners looking for innovative solutions, however if you've a burning idea to harness the potential of this technology, you can use the Hackathon to develop this idea further.
The winning team will be provided with further support to develop their new idea.
