If you are strong headed, like to get challenged, want to immerse in multiple fields at once, and don’t want to get disconnected from how your market is evolving, there aren’t many universities which offer all this but Ravensbourne is one of them.

The open architecture of the building, the exchange between different disciplines and a modern day perspective on learning, all contributed in the decision of choosing Ravensbourne as a place to study. And, very few universities actually offer communication design and don’t confuse it with graphic or interactive. The versatility this course offers was a must for me, as I like dive into all things visual.

Before my masters, I was churning ideas at the speed of ‘Family guy’ but never could get the focus and the priorities right to execute them. Being amongst very helpful teachers and other amazing students, in a highly introspective environment, gave me the push I was looking for.

I have learned a lot from the whole experience of doing a masters, while working part time and being in a new city. In this duration I got interested in user interfaces and user experiences, which helped me utilise all my prior learning from my bachelors in information technology and evolve into a UI/UX consultant.

It’s hard to pick highlights but I got to work as UX designer with an upcoming tech start-up through the university's employment board, got to showcase my project in an art gallery at Level 39, Canary Wharf, both of which were very noteworthy experiences.

The noticeable difference about Ravensbourne compared to other universities is in the methodology of how knowledge is imparted by the teachers. Teachers are more like mentors and the learning is very DIY, which is becoming a norm in the current industry scenario. You are never forced to do some exercise you don’t think will benefit you in the long run.
