Branding design an introduction


Good branding is central to successful businesses. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and how you want to be perceived by your customers, differentiating you from your competition. But how do you develop the perfect brand that encompasses all these considerations?

Blending theory and practice, this course gives you an introduction to design and principles and effective branding. You will be taken step-be-step through idea generation, development, how to successfully stretch an visual identity across a mixture of print and digital platforms. You'll gain the skills to apply design processes in practice, including developing a logo, a design for business cards and visual ideas for a website.

This course is ideal if you own a small business or if you're an independent freelancer looking to develop your own brand. This is a beginner/intermediate level course where some prior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course, you will have developed an understanding the fundamentals of branding, as well as exploring brand expression. You will be able to create an effective logo, as well as know the difference between a logo and brand. You'll also have gained the confidence to apply this to your own brand development.
